Rock Show Review It doesn’t get better than this – the brand new release “Black and White” from indie rocker Mick Rowe is the best thing to hit rock lately. Please take notes and learn some lessons on how a one man show from Indiana can clean house when it comes to wearing all the hats by this rock music wonder boy! Mick proves that true talent can’t hide when you’ve got the goods. Already receiving positive nods from Guitar World and Hit Parader, Mick is making waves in the music scene with his self-produced independent project which is hitting number one all over the place. And the man who holds all the titles in this showcase will truly impress you as Mick is producer, singer & songwriter and plays all the instruments except drums. This formerly signed artist and past member of the bands Mindset7 and Midnight Orchestra has gone solo and his first release is sure to get the attention of everybody in the music scene. Each song is a winner and this rocker girl can’t find any flaws. Take it from a true hard rock fan - this stuff rules! It’s a shame to even try to compare it to anything else out there – Mick is as “real deal” as it gets. Be smart - get the CD. With a sound as unique and identifiable as any rock star needs, Mick’s songs are boss in the songwriter’s world. With just enough 80’s influence to be totally “kewl” and true to himself, “Black and White” takes the cake in production, songwriting, vocals and personality which are a reflection of the one man behind it all. With winning tunes like the popular “Please Save Me”, “Control”, “Stay”, and the classic 80’s remake “Don’t You Forget About Me” that seems to be making it’s rounds out there, there’s never a dull moment on this CD. Listeners will be fully engaged with the guitar driven hit parade and a voice drenching with originality. With crossover credentials, this project is a crowd pleaser in most any audience that appreciates good rock music. The top picks of the CD are hard to narrow down with a collection of winners, but the ones that shout out “hit” include the #1 smash “Please Save Me” which has a haunting nostalgia about it mixed with some new rock flavor. Here, Mick’s voice almost has an “Ozzy-esque” sound to it (minus the bat heads ;-) The chorus screams on this one and you’ll be banging your head to this intoxicating rock hit over and over again. With great pacing and creativity, the guitars have a hint of 80’s rock with a new attitude as most of the tunes sport. “Don’t You Forget About Me” is due for a remake and nobody can do it better than Mick. With just the right vocal personality, Mick does an exceptional job of re-creating this popular oldie. “Illuminate” almost sounds like an offspring of a popular Whitesnake song and Mick belts it out with a new modernized appeal. “Control” adds to the collection of strong hit-worthy tunes followed by “By Your Side” which adjoins the nostalgic 80’s classic sound with a “Mick-made” new millennium make-over. Great music – ya gotta get it! For those of you who are paying attention, there have been a lot of great independent bands and artists coming out of “cow country” lately – all the gems ain’t in Nashville. Do the world a favor and please spread the word about this incredible new solo artist! Visit Mick at: www.mickrowe.com
